I think a 5.0 and 400 hp we be nice.
Let them Bow Tie boys enjoy the spot light for a couple of months, because thats about all they are going to get!

When the 2010 Ford Mustang debuted, there was a collective groan among the pony car faithful that Ford didn't update the aging 4.6-liter V8 along with the 'Stang's new sheetmetal. So when a few spy shots surfaced in January showing a new aluminum engine nestled under the hood of a Mustang mule, we knew the Blue Oval had something else up its sleeve – and now we have confirmation.

According to Ford Australia's product development director, Russell Christophers, FoMoCo's U.S. team is working on an all-new, aluminum double-overhead cam 5.0-liter V8 – codenamed "Coyote" – with output expected to crest 400 hp and around 400 lb-ft of torque. Christophers told Australia's Drive, "I have seen the performance curves and it is a pretty good engine."

The new 32-valve, 5.0-liter V8 is expected to be fitted to the Mustang and F-150 sometime in 2010, replacing the current 4.6- and 5.4-liter mills. And with the inevitable option of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 making its way under the Mustang's hood, Ford looks to be bringing the fight to the new Chevrolet Camaro.

> 2010 Gt Shaker
Posted by Death Dealer - 03-5-09 23:48 - 1 comments

It is pretty sweet to see how the key aftermarket players focused on the Ford Mustang have continually sought to bring innovation, technology, and design improvements to fruition. Classic Design Concepts (CDC), a very worthy player in the aftermarket, has just completed the finishing touches on the new Shaker Hood System for the 2010Mustang GT. To the lucky owners of these newly refreshed pony cars comes the chance to add a bit more flamboyance to their Mustang with this high-performance, quality Shaker Hood System (which is designed and engineered to OEM specs). This Shaker Hood System is a completely functional apparatus that ducts in fresh, cool air into the factory or even an aftermarket air intake. The kits come complete with all the hardware, ducting, the template, and of course, detailed instructions to get the job done right. Check out the close-up of this new hood setup & notice the attention to detail by CDC on this piece!

> 2010 Mustang Drifting World Record
Posted by Death Dealer - 03-5-09 23:40 - 3 comments

Drifting: once a questionable spin in automotive motorsports--is now one of the most popular and neck-turning events around. The most exciting news recently is that Vaughn Gittin Jr. has (unofficially) broken the world's longest drift record...in a 2010 Mustang GT!!

Just a few months ago, Gittin and 0-60 Magazine toured the United States and landed on the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where the drifting magic happened. Lighting up a set of Falken Azenis ST-155 tires, Gittin and the 2010 Mustang surpassed the prior drifting distance record of 4,137 feet by posting up 6,285 feet (1.19 miles) in just over 2 minutes of run time.
